Like a Child

matt 21:15-16 - But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant. “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,“‘From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise?”

Mark 10:13-16- People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.

these verses came to mind tonight at the Christmas eve service i attended with my Pops (which so happened to be the first time we have gone to church together on Christmas or ever, since he became a Christian a few months ago). the church is small, and maybe 25 to 30 ppl were there, and it was a simple service. the service was mainly one of worship and praise, but during that time, the kids at the church all ran to the front and began dancing with each other, they all looked so free and joyous alost as if they understood what Jesus’ birth meant for them, and the Lord just began to speak to my heart. The pastor also read from a children’s bible the Christmas story, and began to talk about how we need refreshment and renewal, and then hinted at having the hearts of children… it was truly a beautiful night, Father help us all to have a childlike faith in You

we will wear compassion

we will wear it on our chests

and sing with love at our throats

like a child, it’s all I know
